In the 2025 ARIA World Series of Team Roping Finals 11.5 Silencer Central event, two Cal Poly Pomona University undergrad student-cowboys won $35,000 each for a sub-8 second successful roping catch. Daniel Miranda, Hawaii, was header and Ty Jacobs, Washington state, heeler. They were followed by a cowgirl whose horse really wasn’t into being dragged away from the blackjack table a few minutes before.
