🐂 The Rise and Fall of Bull Riding Legend – Jim Sharp “The Razor” @PBR-GOAT Jim Sharp wasn’t just a cowboy. He was a phenomenon. Nicknamed “The Razor” for his precise riding style and fearless grit, Sharp carved his name into bull riding history with a legacy that still echoes in the arena today.
From a small-town Texas kid riding steers at age 9 to becoming the first man in history to ride all 10 bulls at the National Finals Rodeo, this is the full story of Jim Sharp — the rise, the fall, and the legend that refuses to fade.
🔥 Who Was Jim Sharp?
Born in Kermit, Texas, in 1965, Sharp grew up in a rodeo family. His father roped calves, and Jim was already riding steers by age nine. By 13, he was dominating junior rodeos, and in 1986, he entered the PRCA, instantly making history as Rookie of the Year with record earnings.
In 1988, Sharp made the ride that changed everything: 10-for-10 at the NFR, a perfect record that no one has matched. He captured his first world title that year and added a second in 1990.
But the 1990s brought brutal injuries — dislocated shoulders, fractured ribs, surgeries — and the road grew harder. Still, Sharp staged comebacks, with high-point rides like his 94-point score on Jim Jam (1999) and 95.5 on Dillinger (2002), proving his toughness.
By 2005, after nearly 20 years in the arena, Sharp retired, but not before securing his place as one of the Top 3 bull riders of all time.
